Kelly Jeans earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California in Exercise Science and her Masters of Science degree from California State University, Long Beach. After finishing her Master’s Thesis, A Kinematic Analysis of Deep Water Running in Arthritic Individuals, she joined Scottish Rite for Children in 2001, to continue her passion for research. Over the last 20 years, she has collaborated with researchers interdepartmentally, including orthopedics, Orthotics and Prosthetics, therapy services and with outside organizations. Her career has focused on the study of movement patterns and cardiovascular fitness in clinical populations including clubfoot, lower extremity amputation, cerebral palsy, adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and early onset scoliosis. She also coordinates and manages the clinical service, the Movement Science Lab, has at Scottish Rite for Children. She is a member of the Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society (GCMAS) and the Association of Children’s Prosthetic-Orthotic Clinics (ACPOC), where she serves on the board of directors.
