Identifying Dyslexia: School-Based Identification of Dyslexia in Texas: Beyond The Basics

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is offering a seminar for educators responsible for administering tests and performance measures and/or interpreting assessment results to identify students with dyslexia and recommend instructional intervention. The seminar is "Beyond the Basics," and is specifically designed for those with experience in the dyslexia identification process who would like to review, refine and update their knowledge.

The seminar will highlight:
  • Application of the definition of dyslexia to the identification of dyslexia 
  • Case studies of student profiles both with and without dyslexia 
  • Case studies of student profiles that go "beyond the basics," including those with complications of ADHD or developmental oral language challenges 
  • Case studies that consider intervention decisions based upon the student's response to intervention 
  • Case studies submitted by those attending
