Zachary - BMW Dallas Marathon Patient Champion

Since 2007, the Patient Champion program has enlisted Scottish Rite Hospital patients to help encourage and cheer on runners in the BMW Dallas Marathon. This program is a way to highlight some of the wonderful kids the marathon generously supports each year. We’re excited to introduce you to Zachary!

Zachary, age 10, of Allen, Texas, came to Scottish Rite Hospital’s Center for Excellence in Sports Medicine in 2017 after injuring his knee. Assistant Chief of Staff, Philip l. Wilson, M.D. and his team’s expert care helped Zachary return to his full level of play in soccer.

Zachary’s favorite thing about the hospital are the people that he sees with every visit – “everyone is just so nice!”

Zachary’s strong work ethic and determination help to make him successful in both academics and athletics. With aspirations to become a professional soccer player one day, Zachary’s commitment to excellence will serve him well in anything he puts his mind to!
