Scottish Rite Hospital Hosts Two Educational Seminars

This week, Scottish Rite Hospital is proud to partner with UT Southwestern Medical Center to host two educational events: Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) and the Pediatric Orthopedic Educational Series (POES). As an institution dedicated to training medical professionals both near and far, we look forward to this opportunity to share our expertise with the local medical community to bring better care to children. Both seminars are designed for pediatricians, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, family practitioners and allied health professionals.

The 19th annual Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics: Topics for Primary Care is a one-day seminar focused on training primary care providers to manage and identify behavioral and developmental issues in children. With faculty members from UT Southwestern and Scottish Rite Hospital, the program includes case studies, presentations and time for discussion. This year, the seminar includes presentations to educate medical professionals on ADHD, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, childhood adversity and genetic conditions.

The Pediatric Orthopedic Educational Series (POES) includes a full day of lectures presented by staff of Scottish Rite Hospital. Topics include a neuromuscular session, sports medicine and updates to the hospital’s Centers for Excellence. With presentations from various clinical staff, researchers and physicians, POES provides our team the opportunity to teach and share their expertise with other pediatric health care providers.

Both of these one-day educational seminars cultivate learning and awareness to bring leading-edge care to children within the community. As an institution committed to patient-centered care, we will continue to provide this type of education to fellow medical professionals close to home and around the world.
