Scottish Rite Hospital Hosts Collaborative Research Meeting

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is hosting the 2018 Annual Clinical Research Conference: The Future of Research, Now. For the eighth consecutive year, this one-day collaborative meeting brings together the top hospitals in the Dallas area including Scottish Rite Hospital, Children’s Health, Parkland Hospital and UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW). 

The annual conference helps attendees to better define the importance of utilizing research to improve patient care, streamlining multidisciplinary studies and innovating study design. Staff from the various institutions have been invited to present on their respective expertise. 

Scottish Rite Hospital’s clinical research manager Jennifer Rodgers, M.A., C.C.R.P., has been actively involved with the planning of this meeting and understands the significance it brings to the hospitals involved. “The annual research conference is unique in that it connects clinical research professionals from premiere hospitals in the area to collaborate on innovative ideas,” says Rodgers. “For one day, we are able to come together and learn from one another to ultimately bring better care back to the patients.”

This year, sports medicine physician Shane M. Miller, M.D., is among one of the selected conference speakers. With a passion in caring for young athletes, Miller is presenting the latest in his concussion research.

As a hospital dedicated to research and education, it is an honor to be able to host such a prestigious conference for clinical research professionals in the community. It is collaborations like this that allow Scottish Rite Hospital to continue its mission of providing world-renowned care.
