Get to Know our SRH Staff: James Anderson, Sports Medicine Medical Assistant

James Anderson is a medical assistant who works with our sports medicine patients at our North Campus in Plano. Learn more about him in our Staff Spotlight below:

What’s your favorite part of your job?
Working with my co-workers.  I’ve been with a lot of them for many years and we’re just another family outside of home.

What’s your favorite thing about the hospital?
I love what we stand for and our core values.  I love that we are the best or strive to be the best at what we do.

How long have you worked here?
14 years

What skills do you need for your job?
A solid work ethic and desire to be the best.

What was your first job? 
My first job in high school was working at Foot Action selling athletic shoes and apparel.

What is your favorite hospital event? 
I like volunteering at the Frisco events throughout the year to spread the word of our North Campus and Sports Medicine.

What’s your favorite…
Place to travel: Italy 
Type of food: Pizza
TV show: Designated Survivor, but I also watch Friends every night when I go to bed to help wind down and laugh a little.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
The power to heal people.

What did you want to be when you grew up? 
I wanted to be a football coach.

What’s the last book you read?  
Well, I read to my daughter every night at bed time and we are working out way through the tree house series right now.  Currently in the revolutionary war.  

What kind of animal would you be?
Being a monkey might be fun.

How long is your commute? What do you do on the drive?
My commute is about 30 minutes and I usually listen to local sports talk shows.

What is something people don’t know about you?
I love studying history. Especially World War 2. My grandfather was a German immigrant that came to the US in the 1930’s and was in D-day to help liberate his country. He’s definitely the person I’ve always to tried to live up too.
