Ella - BMW Dallas Marathon Patient Champion
Since 2007, the Patient Champion program has enlisted Scottish Rite Hospital patients to help encourage and cheer on runners in the BMW Dallas Marathon. This program is a way to highlight some of the wonderful kids the marathon generously supports each year. We’re excited to introduce you to Ella!
Ella, age 7, of Aubrey, first came to visit the prosthetic and orthotic experts at Scottish Rite Hospital when she was just three days old. The care Ella receives for her hand difference allows her to experience her childhood to the fullest!
As an avid superhero fan, especially the female heroines, Ella has learned a thing or two about adventure. When she isn’t following the tales of her favorites like Flash, Super Girl and Wonder Woman, you can find her painting, dancing or spending time with her friends.
Ella’s favorite part of the hospital are the kind and helpful staff members she gets to visit each time she comes in for her appointments. When she’s not visiting her friends, her other favorite activity is to observe the oversized train table in the clinic level. Patients can watch the trains make their stops all throughout “the city.”
