Alonzo - BMW Dallas Marathon Patient Champion

Since 2007, the Patient Champion program has enlisted Scottish Rite Hospital patients to help encourage and cheer on runners in the BMW Dallas Marathon. This program is a way to highlight some of the wonderful kids the marathon generously supports each year. We’re excited to introduce you to Alonzo!

Alonzo, age 17, of Dallas, came to Scottish Rite Hospital’s Center for Excellence in Sports Medicine in 2015 after suffering an ACL and meniscus tear. Dr. Ellis and his team’s expert care helped Alonzo return to his full level of play in both track and football.

Alonzo’s strong work ethic helps to make him successful in both academics and athletics. With aspirations to become a professional football player or a law enforcement official, Alonzo’s commitment to excellence will serve him well in anything he puts his mind to!

We invite you to join our team of fundraisers on behalf of Patient Champions like Alonzo and all the patients of Scottish Rite Hospital through our marathon fundraising page
